Harrison writes Gallatin about a plan presented to him by a man (Mr. Pierce) at the Falls of the Ohio regarding the building of locks for navigating the Saline River year round., Gallatin, Albert, 1761-1849, On the outside of the letter, Gallatin notes that a duplicate copy of his April 30, 1807, letter to Harrison will be sent. He also acknowledges that other letters sent at the same time may not have arrived as well, in particular a letter to Anderson at Clarksville regarding the survey of Virginia military lands. Transcription of letter is located in Box 1, Folder 13, of the collection.
