A Call From an Old Friend

This illustration entitled, "Just Waiting For the Word", by cartoonist Clifford Berryman, which appeared in the Washington Evening Star on November 24, 1914, depicts William Jennings Bryan greeting the resignation rumor, which had often surfaced because of Bryan's ongoing disagreements with President Woodrow Wilson over involvement in the war in Europe.
